Tohoku is located in the northernmost of Honshu Island, where agriculture is developed, tourists can see the typical Japanese rural scenes. The winter heavy snowfall affects the culture of this area very much, a lot of manners and customs of the unique Japanese old Buddhism tradition and rural folks remain unchanged. Particularly, the customs of hot spring cures take roots even now, so it is possible to know the lives of the people of old Japanese rural villages. Thanks to the effort of the local people, Tohoku is reviving from the great disaster of the big earthquake occurring a few years ago except Fukushima Prefecture which is suffering great disaster from the nuclear power. There is no problem for sightseeing now. Visitors are greatly encouraged to visit here as a support of revival.
