Castle, Cherry blossoms and Neputa Festival:

Hirosaki is to the southwest of Aomori City, which was once the cultural center of ancient castle town of Tsugaru clan and where the prosperous history remains. Hirosaki castle and its park are famous for cherry blossoms all over the country. There are a large number of Sakura trees in the Hirosaki Park, the sight of night cherry blossoms is especially beautiful. Besides the cherry blossoms season, the change of the expression of the park can be watched, which makes it worth seeing as a leading castle park in Japan.

Access and Getting Around

It is 40 km away from Aomori, in the Aomori – Hirosaki interval, it becomes the basic route of trains and the road of Aomori Prefecture.

By train

45 minutes from Aomori Station, 1 train for every 30 minutes; 2 hours from Akita Station by limited express train, 7 trains per day.

By bus

55 minutes from Aomori Airport to Hirosaki bus terminal with 1 bus per hour.
9 hours 15 minutes from Shinagawa Station, Tokyo and Yokohama Station by nigh bus, 9 hours from Ueno Station, Tokyo, one leaving at noon, the other leaving at night.

By car

1 hour from Aomori Station, 3 hours 30 minutes from Akita Station.

By plane

1 hour 30 minutes from Tokyo Haneda to Aomori Airport with 6 flights per day; 1 hour 40 minutes from Osaka by JAL and ANA plane, 6 flights per day, and other flights from Sapporo, Nagoya and Seoul, Korea.
