Kyushu region, which is located to the southwest of Honshu, is the third biggest island among four big islands. It is the closest to the Asian Mainland, therefore, it has been affected by the culture from the Mainland of eastern Asia, and it features its sightseeing spots of historical and cultural heritages and volcanic landform. Located in the southwest of Japan, it is quite warm and rarely snows except in the area of high mountains, therefore it is the region that is suitable for sightseeing through one year. It is accessible from each prefectural capital via Shinkansen and direct flights from Tokyo, so it is quite convenient.
