The city is located in the northwest of Kagoshima Prefecture.There is a famous tideland where a lot of cranes (in numbers and kinds) spend the winter, about 10,000 cranes are watched every winter now. Access and Getting Around
It is one of the stations of the Kyushu Shinkansen, so it is convenient to reach it by train.
The tideland is on the shoreline 13 km away from Izumi Station. It is a pity that no public transportations are available, so you may take a tour bus with Japanese guideline only or go there by car.
