Chubu is a region in the center of Honshu Island. The steep Japan Alps with the mountains of the 3,000m grade rises in the central part. In the northern part, it is connected to the Sea of Japan, and it is a world heavily snowy area in winter. In the southern part, it is connected to the Pacific Ocean, and it is warm and different from the northern part climatically. Its feature is the multi-usefulness in various aspects. Because it is located in the middle of Tokyo and Osaka that are East-West centers of the Japanese economy and culture, it is a region forming an original sphere of life through the interchange of both cultures.
