Tocho-ji temple was dedicated to a famous monk called Kobo Daishi.
It is one of the oldest and considered the main temple of Shingon Buddhism sect.
The temple has one Senjukan-non Buddhist statue of about 87cm that is carved from a single log of black pine.
It is a national treasure for of its rarity and the unusual hexagonal shape of the temple.
