It is a small island a 10-minute walk away from the pier bridge.

It is healing, as the number of visitors is so few.

The whole island is surrounded by pine trees, which seems the origin of the name Matsushima,

and the scene of Matsushima Bay and trace and of the ascetic practices of the Zen priest is splendid,

so it is never overlooked as a tourism spot.
