Gion Yamakasa is a festival in Hakata in Fukoaka that is celebrated annually from July 1st to 15th.
It is said to be a tradition of almost 750 years.
The height of the festival is the famous huge colorfully decorated float-racing that are being pulled 5 km around the city.
The float racing starts in the early morning of the 15th day of the festival which is held in seven areas in the city.
This festival attracts up to a million of spectators in and around the country.
