Ibusuki City is located at the tip of the Satsuma Peninsula, where it is warm throughout the year and the roadside trees are phoenix and palm trees which makes tropic atmosphere. In addition, it is famous for its hot springs where visitors are covered with the beach sand which is a unique bathing way continuing 300 years. This way of bathing is rare even all over Japan, so it must be an interesting experience. Besides the above, it is also a big resort in South Kyushu because there are many scenic spots such as Mt. Kaimondake and Mountain passes with good views.
Access and Getting Around
Ibusuki Onsen is to reach by train or car because it is near to Kagoshima.
Yet, trains or buses going round sights are not so many, so it is necessary to take enough time while making a tour plan.
A bicycle can be rented at the station which is used for city tour.
1 hour 15 minutes from Kagoshimachuo Station to Ibusuki Station by the JR Ibusuki-makurazaki Line with 1 train per hour.
1 hour 40 minutes from Kagoshimachuo Station with 1 bus per hour;
1 hour 50 minutes from Kagoshima Airport with 10 buses per day.
1 hour 20 minutes from Kagoshimachuo Station.
