the shrine itself is relatively new as a rebuilt building,
but all the approach to a shrine spreading out from the biggest Torii in Japan
make in the atmosphere of the shrine in the forest.
Access and Getting Around
By train and bus
2 hours 15 minutes from Shin Osaka to Kii-tanabe Station by the Kisei Line with 1 train per hour,
then to Hongu-taisha for an hour by bus with 7 buses per day.
3 hours 30 minutes from Nagoya Station to Shin-gu Station by the Kisei Line with 6 trains per day,
then to Hongu-taisha for an hour 20 minutes by bus with 9 buses per day.
By car
3 hours from Osaka Station, 3 hours 30 minutes from Nagoya Station. 2 hours 40 minutes from Ise Shrine.
