Kumano Nachi-taisha
熊野那智大社

  • Shrines

It is a hallowed ground built for nature worship of the waterfall of Nachi nearby as the God

which is located in Nachikatsuura-cho at the south end of the Kii Peninsula.

There is a three-storied tower painted in red at the end of stairs and the scene of the waterfall of Nachi viewed

from the tower are an atmosphere appropriate for the hallowed ground.

A bus gets to Nachi shrine, but what we want to recommend is to get off at Daimonsaka bus stop

and then to walk to the Kumano Nachi-tasiha for 1.3 km for 40 minutes.

Long sloping stairs spread but it is a mini ancient-road trail for those who cannot walk on the Kumano ancient road,

which is worth recommending.

There are costumes of the Middle Ages for sale at the entrance of the slope where you may buy one and wear.

It is a pleasure to wear a Japanese costume and walk to the Shrine.

A couple cedars of 800 years old and the slope of the stone stairway are also good.
