Fukenoyu Onsen is an inn of an unexplored hot spring in Mount Hachimantai area.

There are combination baths of men and women, and the open feeling of the men’s section of a bathhouse

is particularly impressive.

There is also an outdoor bath exclusive for women, but it is a pity that its prospect is bad.

The combination bath lamps for light only is easy to be in even for women at night.

As a forest therapy, the hotel accepts consultation on hot springs and forest.

It can be a 6.5 km hiking trail from the mountaintop of Mount Hachimantai.

Access and Getting Around

The road is closed in winter and the hotel is closed, too.

By bus

Taking a bus is inconvenient. Bus services are only Sundays and National holidays.

1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes (depending on routes) from Morioka Station,

transfer at the Hachimantai mountaintop bus terminal for 20 minutes, 2 bus services, get off at Fukenoyu bus stop.

2 hours from Tazawako Station for the Hachimantai mountaintop bus terminal, get off at Fukenoyu bus stop.

By car

1 hour 50 minutes from Morioka, 1 hour 50 minutes from Tazawako Station.
