Lake Onuma is a big marsh  1 km down from Goshogake Onsen,

and the trail of one round 40 minutes is maintained.

It is fun for red leaves in fall. Red leaves reflected on the lake is the highlight.

A visitor center is in the shore whose facilities are very substantial as displays of nature of Hachimantai

and an information center.

Access and Getting Around

By bus

Taking a bus is inconvenient. Bus services are only Sundays and National holidays.

There are no bus services in winter and weekday.

1 hour 50 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes (depending on routes) from Morioka Station,

transfer the Hachimantai Mountaintop bus terminal for 30 minutes, 2 bus services, get off at Onuma bus stop.

2 hours from Tazawako Station for the Hachimantai Mountaintop bus terminal, 2 bus services, get off at Onuma bus stop .

By car

2 hours from Morioka Station, 1 hour 40 minutes from Tazawako Station.
