Lake Shikaribetsu is in the east Daisetsu area of Daisetsuzan National Park.
Its altitude is 800m. It is the highest among the lakes of Hokkaido and the Japan’s coldest area.
There are colored leaves in fall that can be enjoyed for the entire season
and outdoors event (Kotan Festival tourist attraction in winter).
