Kerama Blue:
The Kerama Islands are located 40 km to the west of Naha, made up of 20 islands. The Kerama Islands are surrounded by the most transparent seas and coral reefs in the world, which are longed-for of the marine-sports lovers such as divers. People live only on four of them, Tokashiki Island, Zamami Island, Aka Island, Geruma Island. It takes 35 minutes to go to the nearest Tokashiki Island by high-speed boat, one hour to Zamani Island and Aka Island, while it is impossible to have a one-day tour to Gerum Island, the so-called Kerama Blue, and enjoy the wonderful sea and coral reefs. Tourists may have some special discoveries which cannot be seen on many other beaches of large population in Okinawa Island, so do you want to stay here for a few days and enjoy this wonderful “Kerama Blue“. Kerama Islands are divided into two areas, the Zamami Islands and Tokashiki Island, The Zamami Islands are recommended to those who love snorkeling and Tokishiki Island is recommended to diving lovers.
Access and Getting Around
It is possible to get by high-speed boat and ferry. An early reservation is necessary to use a high-speed boat in summer and holidays. On both islands, bus services are available only bound for main sightseeing spots, while rental cars, rental motorcycles and bicycles are also available depending on your destination. Naha Port is the terminal port. It takes 10 minutes to walk from Naha Terminal Port to Miebashi Station.
