Jigoku-dani or Hell Valley:

Noboribetsu Onsen is a part of Shikotsu-Toya National Park, and one the most popular hot spring resort in Hokkaido. It features its mineral variety. A great number of hotels form a hot spring street. Volcanically created landscape on the Jigoku-dani(Hell Valley) is seen and a trail is available not far from the street, there are geysers near the street.

 

Access and Getting Around

Noboribetsu Hot Spring is beside a JR station, limited express trains stop at the station, so it is very easy to access.

Furthermore, frequent buses are available from JR Noboribetsu Station.

By train

From Chitose Airport to 5 minutes to Minami-Chitose Station, transfer train for 50 minute train- ride from there.

1 hour 10 minutes from Sapporo Station by limited express train with 1 round-trip per hour.

2 hours 20 minutes from Hakodate Station by limited express train with1 round- tripper hour

By bus

1 hour 30 minutes from JR Sapporo Station with 7 buses per day.

By car

1 hour 40 minutes from JR Sapporo Station.

3 hours from JR Hakodate Station

By plane

From Tokyo to New Chitose Airport first, then by JR from New Chitose Airport.
