Hagi

Stage of the Revolutionary:

Hagi City is well known as the town of the Mouri Family who defeated the Tokugawa Administration of the Edo period, a small city in Yamaguchi Prefecture in the west of Chugoku region. Access and Getting Around

It is inconvenient to reach Hagi from the big cities by train because you have transfer several times, taking a direct bus from Shin Yamaguchi Station of the Sanyo Shinkansen is the easiest way. A night direct bus arrives here from Tokyo and Kansai, yet it takes too much time. A 100-yen tour bus is enough to go round the down town and walking, or a rental bicycle. You can rent a bicycle anywhere.

By train

3 hours from Shimonoseki Station to Hagi Station or Higashi-hagi Station with 9 trains per day.

By bus

1 hour from Shin Yamaguchi Station to Higashi Hagi Station with 12 buses per day; a night bus from Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe also arrives here with 1 bus service per day.

By car

50 minutes from Akiyoshidai. 3 hours from Iwami Silver Mine.
It is easy to go around Akiyoshidai by car.
