The very large mountain route is across the mountains of the Northern Alps. Tourists can pass high mountains, a huge dam and ravines by cable car, trolley bus, tunnel, ropeway while seeing the typical Japanese mountainous beauty. It may be said that it is a highlight of the Japan Alps.

Access and Getting Around
It is impossible to pass the whole route by car because of the preservation of nature, so tourists have to move by public transport except some parts of the route. The reachable part by car is between Nagano Prefecture and Toyama Prefecture, which is 90 km long. The route may be crowded in sumer, so in case that a one-day passing impossible, staying at Murodo etc,on the way is recommended.
