It is the biggest among the Fuji Five Lakes, in the southernmost of five-lake area.

A great villas spread out, and sanitariums of universities and companies are used

as camps of sports combined with other accommodations in the lakefront too.

There is a cycling road of 13.5 km length along the lake.

 

Access and Getting Around

By train and bus

1 hour 15 minutes from Tokyo Station (the Tokaido Line)with frequent train services, 1 hour from Kozu Station (the Gotenba Line) with 1 train per hour,then 50 minutes from Gotenba Station to Lake Yamanakako by bus with 1 bus per 30 minutes.

By bus

2 hours 10 minutes from Shinjuku Station via Lake Kawaguchiko with 1 bus per hour.

2 hours 20 minutes from Tokyo Station by JR bus with 9 bus services per day.
