It was once a lake which was filled by an explosion of Mount Fuji approximately 1,200 years ago.
It is so large that once you get lost, you will not get out of it again.
The easiest way to see the scenery of the sea of trees is to have the trail between the Wind Cave
and the Ice Cave 30 minutes.
It is especially recommended to the visitors who have not so much time.
There are some other trails, a walk trail for approximately one hour called Aokigahara Sea of Trees
starting from the bat hole close to the Lake Saiko is commonly-used.
A guide tour (in Japanese only) is performed on the arrival of the bus.
Access and Getting Around
30 minutes from Kawaguchiko Station by tour bus.
