Glover Mansion was built in 1863 where a Scottish businessman called Thomas Brake Glover once lived.

It is the oldest one among the existing wooden western-style houses in Japan.

Glover gave money to the Japanese revolutionists at the time, and stayed in Nagasaki even after the Meiji Restoration,

left his marks in the Japanese industrial history.

The mansion is located on the hill with a perfect view.

The garden with flowers is also very beautiful. It is beside the Oura Catholic Church.

Access and Getting Around

2.3km from Nagasaki Station.

Take a tram for Shogakuji Temple at Nagasaki Station, transfer at Tsukimachi for Ishibashi

and get off at Oura Church then a 5-minute walk.
