It is a festival of magnificent customs to be held in Saidai-ji Temple of Okayama City on third Saturday of February every year.

Thousands of naked men who come from the whole country gather to struggle for only two talisman sticks ”shingi”

(it is said that it is lucky to hold it in hand) thrown by a priest from the in hall of the Buddhist temple at 10:00 mid-night,

which is unique festival.

If you are present you must be surprise at its enthusiasm and power.

At the convention, some seats are designated for watching the festival with cost.

Seats are not available in case of being late, so it is hoped to arrive at the convention at least before 20:00

It shows one of the Japanese powers.

Access and Getting Around

By train

18 minutes from Okayama Station to Saidaiji Station by JR Ako Line with 1 train per 30 minutes,

then walk for 10 minutes. It is crowded around the convention.
