Kagoshima is a beautiful city and prefectural seat of Kagoshima Prefecture located in the southernmost part of Kyushu, where tourists can see Sakurajima Island pouring out fumes on the opposite bank. In addition, Kagoshima is a town of the political powers who defeated the Samurai Administration of the Edo Era and a cultural city where many historic inheritances still remain. Access and Getting Around
Kagoshima is the terminal of the Kyushu Shikansen.
Kagoshima City-view Bus: A tour bus (1200yen for a two-day pass) makes a circuit of the city’s main sights. An overnight sightseeing to Sakurajima whose fee includes a discount ticket of a ferry and a car is recommended. A tour bus take tourists to the main sights in the city. The tour information center is at Kagoshimachuo Station.
